ACORN has taken a lot of heat in the last few days, thanks to the efforts of a couple of daring conservative activists and the multiplying power of Beck, Hannity, Rush, et. al. And it looks like they’ve managed to crack the nut, so to speak. ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis is “immediately ordering a halt to any new intakes into ACORN’s service programs until completion of an independent review,” according to a press release sent this afternoon. It looks like the bell is tolling on ACORN, and all thanks to a couple of young, motivated conservative activists. Full Story

Perry takes the lead on important security issue in our prisons!
The Houston Chronicle brought to light today that Governor Perry is not only more in touch with the issues facing our state but on the forefront of finding solutions.
Governor Perry “last November, sent a letter to all members of Texas’ congressional delegation asking for a cell phone jamming bill,” after a “Texas death row inmate used a smuggled cell phone to call state Sen. John Whitmire. A later search of the state’s prison system turned up hundreds of contraband phones, chargers and phone equipment. Other prisons around the country have also reported uncovering hundreds of smuggled cell phones.”

ROLLIN, Rollin, rollin. . . . Endorsements for Governor Perry just keep rolling in!
Organizations all across Texas are speaking up to support Governor Rick Perry’s bid for reelection. Whether it’s creating the best state economy in the nation, strengthening Texas families, or protecting human life, Governor Perry’s principled initiatives have garnered tremendous endorsements in the last several days from several groups and individuals: Texas Municipal Police Association, Texas Chemical Council, and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
The Governor also received endorsements from RNC Committeewoman Cathie Adams, Texas Right to Life, Houston Realty Business Coalition, Texas Apartment Association and Texas Republican County Chairman Association President Linda Rogers and pro-life advocate Carol Everett.

Blogosphere chatter favors Perry
The North Texas Conservative illustrates with their chart that chatter in the blogosphere favors Rick Perry over Kay Bailey. She did have a slight up take the week of her announcement tour, which might also have been due to the splash by Perry with the Kay “Bailout” Bucks.
